It’s almost Christmas! And with the holiday season has come the annual barrage of holiday advertising. As someone who works with businesses, entrepreneurs, and brands, I actually really enjoy holiday marketing. Not only does it help you get into the spirit, but it’s a lot of fun to see how major marketing firms tackle the holidays. After asking around the office, it seems I’m not the only one who actually likes holiday marketing! And so we thought it’d be fun to take a look at Team MyCorp’s top 5 holiday campaigns.
Coke knows how to use its brand, and every year we normally see a new iteration of an image Coke has been using since 1931 to market during the holidays. That Santa-Claus, which was drawn by Haddon Sundblom for Coca-Cola ad agency director Archie Lee, is such a ubiquitous and long-lasting part of Coca-Cola’s brand that, for a while, it was rumored Coca-Cola actually created our modern image of Santa Claus, with the white and red being Coke’s primary colors. Though that rumor isn’t true, as time wore on, many began to associate the Sundblom Santa with all of the pleasant feelings that normally accompany Christmas. And Coca-Cola has certainly ensured that their trademark Santa would continue to be an important part of the holiday season. Nearly every year, that Santa shows up in some way – be it in a wider marketing campaign, on branded merchandise, or on the cans themselves. Continue reading
Here we are in week four of the Magical Month of MyCorp! We had a good run this year, filled with lots of baked goods, champagne, toy-making, laughs, and decorating on decorating! And this week, we finished up strong.
On Monday we unwrapped, swapped, and bartered to find our perfect presents during the gift exchange.
Tuesday morning we were greeted with a holiday waffle brunch courtesy of our very own Dana.
On Wednesday we had the day off to spend with our loved ones!
We named Thursday Customer Appreciation Day (though for MyCorp that’s an every day celebration on our end!) and here is our own sales rep Tracy on the phone with a customer chatting it up.
And today we’re being treated with a catered lunch to celebrate such a fun, festive month.
Be sure to check out our Facebook page to follow along with us as we ring in the New Year next week!
I can’t believe there’s only a little over a week left of this magical month! But we’ve been making the most of this month – check out what our office was up to during the third week of the Magical Month of MyCorp!
We started the week off at our very own MyCreameration Ice Creamery, LLC with some yummy homemade ice cream!
On Tuesday we stuffed some special friends for children in need.
Wednesday we closed our eyes for some blind wine tasting (some of us were better than others)!
We got creative (and messy!) on Thursday making our department gingerbread houses.
And today we’re rounding off the week with a homemade cookie exchange (and a few store bought ones as well – shh!)
Happy holidays, everyone! Stay tuned for our final full week next week!
Our holiday spirits were at an all time high in week two of the Magical Month of MyCorp, especially as we gear up to head to our company Ugly Sweater Holiday Party this evening! We’ll be indulging in some karaoke, pool, darts, and bar nourishment all around!
We’ll be sure to document the evening with lots of photos, but until then, here’s a taste of our latest office festivities:
We kicked off the week by coming to work dressed in our bundled, winter bests!
On Tuesday we indulged in some gourmet hot chocolate.
Wednesday we tried our luck at the lottery (collectively we won $4).
We played a fun, festive, fast-paced ornament exchange game on Thursday!
And today we’re looking awfully dapper in our ugly Christmas sweaters in preparation for the party tonight – stayed tuned to our Facebook page for photos from our holiday party this weekend!
We’ve just entered the month of December, so you know what that means…. time for the “Magical Month of MyCorp!” Each day during the month of December, we do something special to keep the holiday spirit alive and well while we’re working away! This has been a tradition for a couple years now in the MyCorp family, and we’re ecstatic to get the ball rolling this year!
Here’s a recap of the magical happenings that went on this week:
On Monday, we welcomed Hanukkah with latkes, wine, and a lit Menorah.
Tuesday we picked up our tree and decorated it!
Wednesday was for blind chocolate tasting – no peeking at the flavors!
We found ourselves at a yummy pizza party on Thursday.
And along with our usual Friday bagels, we enjoyed some challah this morning.
Happy first week of the “Magical Month of MyCorp,” folks! Stay tuned for another week of magic and a look at our holiday party next week!
Last Friday, the MyCorp team took a break from the work day to take on the challenge on building gingerbread houses – with a twist. Each team was given only 30 minutes, 2 packages of graham crackers, a can of frosting, and a huge pile of candy to build the ultimate gingerbread house. And boy were our teams creative! Check out the winners below and their creative gingerbread houses! Continue reading
Decorating for the holidays is not something MyCorporation takes lightly! Last winter, The Magical Month of MyCorp was established, where each day of December included a festive activity for the office to partake in. One day we’d have a cookie exchange, the next we’d all be trying our luck at the lottery with Scratch-offs for everyone in the office, and another day our CEO Deborah would head out and pick up Starbucks for everyone to beat that 2:30 feeling back with.
This year, the Magical Month of MyCorp is back in action and the activity of decorating the office has turned into pure winter wonderland mayhem. In fact, the office has been so gung-ho about decorating that it became a contest between the departments.
Here are MyCorp’s proud victors: Continue reading
The holidays are currently in full swing. If you haven’t already, it’s time to break out your tacky Christmas sweater, wrap your presents and start brewing the wassail. We know that many of you have probably already attended a work holiday party, but many parties can often extend well over into the New Year. For those of you with last minute holiday parties to attend, we have a few “what to do’s” for you to keep in mind. Continue reading
If there is one thing internet blogging outlets have become increasingly good at, it is telling you what to buy. Once the holidays roll around nearly every, single business blog begins to look like a Sky Mall catalog. Did you know that your boss wants a personalized business card case? Or that CEOs everywhere are clamoring for the fancy vinegars and expensive laptop stands?
Neither did we! But, judging from what we’ve been reading online on holiday office shopping, your best bet is to just walk into your closest Brookstone and just grab a handful of the shiniest gadgets. Since Christmas is getting closer, we thought we’d help everyone out by giving our suggestions on what you can get your favorite CEO or entrepreneur. While our suggestions aren’t as cute or whimsical as others, we feel that, at the very least, they can be used without causing any embarrassment. Continue reading
