How to Stop Common Glitches in Your Systems

Every business owner deals with computer problems from time to time, and while frustrating, usually aren’t the end of the world. Most common computer glitches do not require expensive repairs and your systems will be up and running after just a few hours. Before you hire a technical support expert, you should try these common repairs. Knowing how to handle some common glitches can keep you in the clear and your business up and running no matter what.

Rebooting the Computer

Sometimes, rebooting the computer will fix the problem. Turn off the computer, and restart it after a few minutes. If the computer will not perform any functions, you should press Control+Alt+Delete. The taskbar menu will appear on the screen and you can then choose the sign-out option. When you are signed out, you can choose the shutdown option.

Follow the Command Prompts

When you are shutting down your computer, follow the command prompts. You should always try to avoid an improper shutdown. When you reboot the computer, the computer will delete some of the temporary files and a reboot will also close any rogue programs.

Update and Reinstall Your Programs

Rebooting the computer will temporarily stop a rogue program, but it cannot fix a corrupt program. The program could be infected with malicious software, and the problem could slowly destroy your computer. If the programs are running slow, you should uninstall and reinstall the programs. When you are ready to reinstall the programs, you should make sure you are downloading the programs from a reputable source. Most business administrators will tell you it is worth the price and effort to get the best programs on the market, since your computers are investment for your businesses lifetime. Check for Spyware and Malware

Update your anti-virus and malware software often. If your computer is running slower than usual, it could be infected with rogue software. You should always use the latest versions of your favorite anti-virus and malware software. Some malware software can alert you of potentially dangerous websites. You should scan your computer at least once a day. In addition to scanning your computer, you should also routinely check the task manager. The task manager will show you all the programs that are currently running on your computer.

Reset to Factory Settings

If your computer is still sluggish after reinstalling your programs, you may need to reset the computer. You should move all your important files to an external device before you reset your computer. You will have to reinstall all of your programs.

You do not have to be an expert to fix some of the most common computer glitches. When you handle your own computer repairs, you will have more money in your bank account and you can use that money to further your business and build better products.
