How do we truly know what ingredients are in the personal care products we buy? That was the issue facing Pooneh Ramezani DDS and Paris Sabo MD who set out to revolutionize the natural products industry from the ground up. They’re the founders of Dr. Brite — read on to find out more about them and their Irvine, CA-based B Corp.

What do you do when the right products aren’t available? “We were so discouraged by the lack of natural and organic products on the market that were truly safe and performed well. Even the most ‘natural’ personal care products were made with questionable ingredients, so we decided to create our own. We set out to change the natural personal care industry by developing innovative products that are natural, nontoxic and effective. Our mission is to become the world’s most trusted brand and to empower a conscious way of life.”

Why our environment, consumers, and employees allowed us to become a certified B Corp: “The B Corp designation validates our commitment to higher standards and complete transparency of our practices and beliefs. Using business as a force for good is something we’ve done since the beginning and we love being a part of such a prestigious group of like-minded companies. Being Good + Doing Good = Being Brite.

Our biggest accomplishment to date: “This was when we became a certified B Corp company within our first year of business. It is such an honor and a privilege to know that the foundation of our company is helping pave the future of corporate structure by redefining success in business.”

How our personal care products allow us to “B the Change” each day: “Our products are made in the USA using sustainable, eco-friendly and cruelty-free practices by employees who are paid living wages. We do this with complete transparency every day.”

If you want to become a B Corp… Just do it! We see a great deal of companies and startups like us, who already have business practices that align with the B Corp beliefs. It’s just a matter of making the effort and commitment.”

How B Corporations are leading a socially responsible revolution:We believe businesses will change their corporate structure to become socially responsible. Companies are beginning to take the interests of all stakeholders into consideration during the decision-making process, instead of making choices based on the interests of shareholders and doing so with complete transparency. The traditional corporate structure is changing, and the B Corps, Social Cause and Mission Driven companies are at the forefront of this movement.”
