Why Your Business Needs a Mobile Site

Check out the screenshot of MycroBurst’s mobile site!

If you don’t have a smartphone now, chances are you will have one by the end of this year. According to Nielsen Mobile Insights, most mobile phones in America will be smartphones by the end of 2012. Which leads to the big question… is your business ready to adapt to the world of smartphone apps yet?

It’s hard not to notice how much mobile usage and browsing is on the rise and as such, my team at MycroBurst decided to develop a mobile version of our website. Once you visit MycroBurst on your smartphone, you’ll be redirected to m.MycroBurst.com and welcomed by our sleek new mobile design. With the integration of the MycroBurst mobile site, we’ve already seen amazing feedback and great interaction from our clientele.

Not sure a mobile site is right for your business? Here are the 3 big reasons I think a mobile site can’t be ignored.

1) Reach New Clients

According to an infographic by KISSmetrics, a mobile website can increase consumer engagement up to 85%. Plus, website visitors are 51% more likely to do business with an online retailer with a mobile site.

You read that right, 51% of visitors are more likely to do business with you if you have a mobile site. With a mobile site your company is easily accessible to a wider range of new clients which in turn leads to even more clients – and who doesn’t want to drum up more business that quickly?

2) Increase Your Revenue

As smartphones are becoming more popular by the second, you’re not only increasing your clientele by having a mobile site but are open to a new avenue to increase sales. If you have a product that is easily purchased online, give your clients the ability to make a purchase on the go.

In 2012, 35% of sales were made on smartphones with a projected 43% of online purchases to be made via these devices in 2015. By getting started with your mobile site now, this will assure you’re ready when most, if not all, of your customers transfer to smartphones to make purchases.

3) International Exposure

America isn’t the only country where the sales of smartphones have risen. There’s also been an increase in smartphone sales in the Asia Pacific and Middle East/Africa, along with many other countries. Mobile sites automatically enable more international exposure.

From MycroBurst’s standpoint, a lot of our clientele and designers are international. A mobile site was a great way to reach current users and attract new ones worldwide. If your company isn’t internationally based yet, having a mobile site will allow for the possibility of that growth.

You’re still here?

Getting started is easy. To get your website ready for a mobile version, first you need a design. MycroBurst.com not only helps with logo design, we are also able to help you create a custom design for your mobile site. Once you have a design, you just need your developer (or to hire one) to incorporate that design into a mobile site.

If you’re looking for a do-it-yourself option, there are plenty of apps and other solutions that will help you create a generic mobile site template. Creating a mobile site can even suffice for an app. Creating an applicaiton to list in the iTunes store or Android marketplace can be on hefty job. Depending on how your mobile site is designed it can act similar to an app, without users having to download anything.

Whichever you choose, you should hop to it! The mobile world is here to stay, let your business benefit from it!
