Pixel Parlor — Fantastic B Corps

Pixel Parlor has figured out the secret ingredient to great design: fun! Their studio pulls inspiration from outside of their walls and integrates those ideas into exciting and evocative designs using sustainable materials. All of this goes to benefit the needs of their clients which, in turn, leads to strong, long-standing relationships. Read on to find out more about Andrew and Jenn and their Philadelphia, PA-based B Corp.

What our studio strives to do daily: “Our mission is to design with impact. Extraordinary design comes from strong relationships with organizations and businesses we are proud to support. We turn complicated business problems into visually compelling stories. Our work is rooted in authenticity, backed by best practices, and attention to detail—all the way down to the last pixel. We pride ourselves on providing exemplary customer service that empowers our clients to not only succeed, but thrive.”

We’re all about the people at Pixel Parlor: “What I love about working in a B Corp are the amazing people and projects that a mission-based company attracts. We work with an incredible array of individuals who strive to do good, and work hard to make positive change.”

Why 2017 was our breakthrough year: “2017 was a really great year for our studio, we were voted B Corp Best for the World Changemakers, and my husband participated in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program to help elevate the management of our business. It feels really great to implement programs and processes that improve the business and move us forward and to be recognized for our work.”

How sustainability allows us to “B The Change:” “We strive to use the most environmentally sustainable materials possible in all of our projects, and to incorporate sustainability into our space. We’ve done a lot of research, and are happy that it has become second nature that our default materials and practices are as good for the environment as possible. We are always assessing and reassessing our practices to make improvements as technology improves, and new discoveries are made.”

If you want to become a B Corp…  “If you are interested in becoming a B Corp and already living the lifestyle, it can never hurt to take the B Corp Quick Impact Assessment to see how you stack up. Even if you don’t get a score high enough to gain your certification on the first try, it will give you the tools that you need to begin implementing best practices, and to track your progress towards becoming a B Corp.”

B Corporations are on the rise! “The future looks great for the B Corp movement. It has started small, but is growing in exposure and recognition. My hope is that B Corps won’t be the exception, and will be the rule. It would be ideal if B Corp became the baseline standard for all business, it could stand to change the trajectory of the world.”
